November 2025: Remembrance Sunday
In preparation for Remembrance Sunday, residents came together to create beautiful poppy wreaths. This meaningful activity provided an opportunity for residents to share memories, reflect, and connect with one another, deepening the sense of community here at The Crown. As they worked on their wreaths conversations flowed, stories were shared, and a collective pride emerged. October 2025: Vocalist Louise Elder comes to visit!
Our wonderful vocalist Louse came to visit and performed songs to entertain residents from genres they know and love, such as 1950's rock and roll, swing and 1940's classics! Singing in a care home provides many benefits for residents, including improved mood and cognitive function, by tapping in to long-term memories. Residents enjoyed singing along and playing percussion!


October 2025: Treats and games for Halloween!
Residents helped to make some delicious Halloween treats for all to enjoy and participated in some spooky games and challenges. For many of our residents, marking Halloween is a treasured link to their family’s Halloween traditions. Taking part in such activities transports them back to the warmth of family gatherings, bringing comfort and joy.


September 2025: Afternoon tea prepared by our residents and a visit from the ice cream van!
Residents helped to prepare tea for all to enjoy including home made scones and quiches and chopped up fruit for a delicious fruit salad. We always encourage residents to maintain daily routines which in turn promotes a sense of independence.


August 2025: Choir practice in the garden
Choir practice was in full swing in the garden this month. Residents find choir practice a therapeutic and engaging activity that provides benefit through improved mood, memory and social connection.


July 2025: A trip to Hunstanton
Our Residents enjoyed a wonderful trip to the seaside where they enjoyed the fresh air, the sound of the waves, and the overall ambiance of the beach. Our special day out brought back fond memories for residents of past holidays enjoyed at the seaside.


May 2025: VE Day Celebrations
Residents and staff came together to mark VE Day with heartfelt celebrations. From wartime songs and singalongs to traditional cream teas and homemade bunting, we honoured the occasion with joy, respect and plenty of smiles. Many residents shared their memories of the day World War II ended in Europe, while others donned 1940s-style outfits and raised a toast to the generation who lived through it.


April 2025: Baking Scones
Residents enjoyed baking scones together this morning. Baking offers numerous benefits, including mental stimulation, physical exercise, and social interaction, while also providing a sense of accomplishment and joy. It can be a calming activity that reduces stress and anxiety, and it also provides an opportunity to reminisce about past baking experiences and enjoy the aromas and tastes of freshly baked goods.
